Maybe I'm biased, but I make no apologies for it. That heritage is part of me. I can no more change it than I can the colour of my eyes. What really galls me about this are the amount of naysayers who I'd have expected to be on our side. Hell, even our M.P. voted in favour, and he's a LIEberal !

There are many, many people who can boast with conviction that this heritage is actually their coveted lifestyle.
We have three sons and three daughters, brought up hunting and fishing.
The Yukon Fish and Game Association conduct an Outdoor Education Camp every year. Activities include hiking, and glassing sheep, bear etc., canoeing, rifle shooting, trap shooting, archery, horse packing, a wholesome action packed week or so of activities. One son described it as the highlight of his year.
Last spring the youngest lad stopped a bear at 30 feet with a shot to the head, and in the fall our youngest daughter [or none of us for that matter] will forget the bull moose that followed her to where we were already butchering a bull.
There we were, my wife, youngest son and daughter, all yelling at this moose to get !
Obviously the short sighted geeks who voted against Breitkreuz's motion don't see the value in kids being involved in such healthy activities as opposed to sniffing or 'shooting up'. It's been my observation that the young set brought up with this heritage as part and parcel of their lives, know who and what they are, they're productive and know there's no such thing as a free lunch.
Heck, my eldest started hunting at 7 years old with a .177 air rifle. I remember he got two rabbits and four grouse that year. He's now a successful businessman and he's been out for bighorn sheep and whitetail deer this year.
The outdoor fishing and hunting heritage is part of his life.

Good luck Gary.......l want to believe, but l really have my doubts! Harper appears ready to sacrifice the vote of responsible firearm owners to appease the eastern and urban voters.....
Even though a party member, l will not be supporting Harper next election if he doesn't carry through with his past election promises. For those who were far sighted enough to see the dangers of C-68 and didn't comply with registration, it doesn't matter who is in orifice.... short of door to door searches they can't take what they don't know about.
