I avoid buying ammo at Walmart or Canadian tire. I only did last year because I couldn't find primers to load my own in time for deer season...and the sports stores were closed. I've gone into places like Wholesale Sports and S.I.R./Caebela's, picked up crates of ammo, shopped for a while then paid when I left. Canadian Tire just makes you feel like some kind of scuzzy criminal. First, you have to stand by the ammo for up to half an hour while you wait to flag down the 16 year old kid with the key. Then you have to point out what you want, several times ad 99% of these kids don't know the difference between a 12 gauge slug and .22 long rifle. Then, you get paraded to the front and have to pay and leave, even though you still need to pick up an oil filter and a jug of antifreeze...
