Report PostWell I think I'd get an unregistered M1 in .30 - 06 and convert it to .35 Whelen , because you can shoot 250 grain bullets with much more foot pound energy ( bigger diameter boosts energy with same powder load ). Not only would you have ideal moose medicine in the thick brush , but a chance to lace it twice in a twinkling , just for insurance . The problem might be finding a machinist/gunsmith who would do the conversion without your PAL horning in on the act . Two cents ? So what .
